Seriously, does anyone answer their phone any more? I know e-mail is effective for managing time, but when we’ve reached the point where a voicemail recording is so expected that you’re shocked into silence when someone actually picks up the phone, it’s time to really re-evaluate.

I am an e-mail, text, IM fan and avid user. In this line of work, after talking all day every day for so many years, sometimes it’s nice to communicate without having a receiver attached to your ear, especially at night. But when it comes to business, the only thing that comes close to sitting in the same room with someone (the best form of communication) is the telephone. If I decide to spearhead a campaign for bringing back use of the poor neglected office telephone line, I hope I’ll have some followers.
